Mechanical Engineer

My name is Yousef Saleh, and I'm a Doctoral candidate at Florida State University. I currently work as a graduate research engineer at the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP) . I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace Engineering.


I'm an experienced Scientist with a demonstrated history in supersonic flows and acoustic research. I am well-acquainted with combustion and high pressure systems, data acquisition units, a variety of transducers, MATLAB, SolidWorks, machining, event planning, team management and engineering. I have had great leadership experience as president of a major sports club as well as a strong academic background.


I am actively analyzing the acoustics generated by supersonic heated jets. In particular, I'm looking to characterize the soundfield generated by a Mach 2 diamond-shaped nozzle. The incentive being this nozzle is capable of generating similar thrust levels as its 'circular' counterpart while producing less noise.
